I know I've done this said: You have to send a SDI signal as far as I know. Composite is a analog signal and will not work.

Plug an HDMI cord into your computer, and the other end into the device's HDMI IN.I have a mini Recorder and it works fine when all settings are right.īest said: And the fact that I cannot get an HDMI signal to show in izzy is puzzling.

You can download the Media Express Software from the Blackmagic website. remember SDI and HDMI have limited resolution support. On this website you can see what resolutions are suported.

One thing about the Blackmagic devices is that all settings have to match, if your computer outputs 1080p 50Hz via HDMI you have to set HDMI as input in the Desktop Video Setup software from Blackmagic and select 1080p 50Hz in Isadora for it to show up. But as soon as you select one it will not be available in the other channels, it can only be selected once. I am not sure why you can choose two different Mini Recorder in the "device" selection in Isadora. So your composite signal will not work with the ultra studio. The BNC adaptor has nothing to do with the signal you are sending over it. Half works in that you get the OSD, but no picture on either the camera or the capture window.I said, the signal has to be an SDI signal you are feeding an analog signal that the mini Recorder cannot read.

So you can't get a live feed while in photo mode, but switch to video mode and it kind of half works!! I set the HDMI Output of the NX to 720p, then the Media Express Project setting to 720p50, voila, there's a picture! Firstly there's a warning message on both the camera's screen and the capture window saying 'Shooting functions are supported only when the HDMI output is set to 1080p.' With the NX500, I was getting nothing! Until reading the forum and a post above mentioned some cameras working only at 720p. The Gopro's were working fine at 1080p25. ie the Sony only works when the Media Express project setting (or whatever software you're using) is set to 1080i50. It needs to be set to the native output of the camera, sometimes regardless of your video settings I found. You really have to get the setting on the computer side right (in my case MBP 15" late 2013 model). I've got the UMR working well with GoPro Hero3+, as well as an old Sony HC9 consumer camera. I'm trying to connect an NX500 to Ultrastudio Mini Recorder, and like others have lost some hair over it. Hi all, following this thread, good read!
